Chapter VII

In this chapter our story is completed. Thus far we have seen Buck
transformed from a civilized dog into one perfectly able to live by the law of
the club and the fang. We have seen him almost die as the result of the
ignorance of the three Outsiders, Charles, Hal, and Mercedes. Then we have
seen him cling to civilization in the person of John Thornton. Finally, now,
in this chapter we will see him answer the "call of the wild."
