THINGS ARE so desperate in Hollywood that they're remaking flops.
``Dr. Dolittle,'' a big-budget 1967 film starring Rex Harrison, almost broke 20th Century-Fox and brought the musical bonanza, begun by ``The Sound of Music,'' to a screeching halt. Nonetheless, it received seven Academy Award nominations and won two Oscars: for its song ``Talk to the Animals'' and for visual effects.
