This past summer, Eddie Murphy entertained millions of moviegoers in a remake of the classic tale of Doctor Dolittle. Our readers will recall that Doctor Dolittle was a veterinarian who had the unique ability to understand and talk to animals. This year's movie bore little resemblance to the first Doctor Dolittle film, which was a 1967 children's favorite starring Rex Harrison. This movie was based on a 1920 book by British writer Hugh Lofting.
