For all the talk about PBS changing its image to target younger audiences, this fall's programming for WGBH-TV (Channel 2) looks as traditional as ever, with lots of emphasis on American history and one period drama featuring a British family from the Victorian era.
The expected blockbuster for the season is an "ExxonMobil Masterpiece Theatre" presentation of John Galsworthy's "The Forsyte Saga," which will air in October and November - 33 years after a previous film adaptation aired and almost 100 years after the first volume of the novel was published.
