If you wanted to be a bit flip, you could call it "The Forsyte Saga: The Next Generation."

When "The Forsyte Saga," "Masterpiece Theatre's" epic miniseries based on the works of John Galsworthy, returns Sunday (9 p.m., PBS), 20 years have passed, the Victorian age has given way to the Roaring 20s and the focus of the piece has shifted from the star-crossed Soames Forsyte and Irene Heron to their children. The culture is different, fashion is different, the social backdrop is different.
