THE baddies were in hot pursuit when the hero and his captive tried to make a quick getaway.

However, because this was a scene from the stage production of the classic story, The 39 Steps, actors Lisa Jackson and Robert Whitelock had nothing to fear.

They were joined by Mark Hadfield and Simon Gregor in one of the many chase scenes from the John Buchan story, which has opened at the King's Theatre in Glasgow.
