WASHINGTON, March 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Today, nearly 700 veterans of the current conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq will be officially awarded $5,000 college scholarships from the Horatio Alger Military Veterans Scholarship program -- the first of its kind established exclusively for veterans of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Administered by the Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans, Inc., the program provides scholarship assistance to veterans seeking to earn a bachelor's degree.
