The University of Kentucky issued the following news release:
The Horatio Alger Association of Distinguished Americans recently honored University of Kentucky alumnus Chris Thomas Sullivan, founder and chairman of OSI Restaurant Partners Inc. and co-founder of Outback Steakhouse, as a 2007 recipient of the Horatio Alger Award, given to individuals who have overcome adversity and humble beginnings to achieve great success through the American free enterprise system. Those recognized are contemporary examples of people who have achieved the American Dream.
