THE Georgian birthplace of one of the best-known children's authors of the 20th century has gone up for sale.
The former New Town home of Kenneth Grahame, who wrote about the adventures of Ratty, Mole and Mr Toad in Wind in the Willows, has been put on the market by its current owners, who run it as a luxury guest house.
The Castle Street property was the home of the Grahames when Kenneth was born in 1859. But a year later, they moved to Inveraray when his father was appointed Sheriff Substitute of Argyll.
