To the sound of one of the most distinctive lines in English literature--"poop, poop"--Toad of Toad Hall and his motorcar have driven Kenneth Grahame's 1908 children's novel Wind in the Willows into literary history. A volume that continues to delight and intrigue adults and children alike, it mixes Grahame's almost surreal brand of humour with social commentary in a style which is almost Wordsworthian in its pastoral lyricism.
