HUNDREDS of protesters at a Nuneaton meeting bombarded health chiefs with just one plea -Hands Off Our Hospital.

People who attended the meeting at Alderman Smith School started pouring into the hall from 6.15pm, a full hour before it was due to start.

The audience included patients, nurses and members of staff from the hospital.

They all wanted to find out about proposed changes to the way health services are run by the George Eliot Hospital and the new University Hospital at Walsgrave, Coventry, under an acute services review.
