PLANS to create a new cultural quarter for Wakefield at the Westgate Yards have moved a step closer to becoming a reality.
The results of a study commissioned by Wakefield Council are being presented by consultants Scott Wilson at an exhibition at the city's beam Gallery, on Back Lane, until next Friday.
The historic area of the city, which includes listed buildings, such as the birthplace of Victorian novelist George Gissing, has been earmarked as a potential cultural quarter.
