The arguments over Frost's character and personality sparked by Lawrance Thompson's three-volume Robert Frost: A Biography (1966-76) have not been quieted by Jeffrey Meyers's 1996 Robert Frost: A Biography. Meyers has shifted the ground somewhat by suggesting that Thompson's harshness may spring from his rivalry with Frost for the affections of Kay Morrison, but clearly the battle is not over and all the evidence is not in.
