Each morning, students at Robert Frost School in Arlington Heights tinker with the calendar.
During in-school TV broadcasts, students transport classmates and teachers to past decades to learn about news events, trends and lifestyles.
While watching TV decade reviews at home last year, Linda Victor, the school's library/media center director, pictured an active history lesson for students. She and staff members developed a plan for students in grades 1 through 5 to research each decade of the 1900s and to discuss their findings on the daily school broad-cast.
