Two Tramps In Mud Time: Summary:

The poet is chopping wood in his yard on a sunny April day when suddenly
he is interrupted by the greeting of two strangers, tramps from some unknown
locality. One of the two men drops quietly behind his companion; he says
nothing, but the poet realizes that he would like to take the wood-chopping
job in order to make some money.

The second, third, fourth and fifth stanzas deal, not with the job of
chopping, but with the stupendous beauty of a day in early spring, a day
