COSTUME drama Cranford and its star Dame Judi Dench are tipped to top the TV Baftas tomorrow.

With four nominations, Cranford - based on the bestselling books by Elizabeth Gaskell - is up for the most awards.

But it spells friendly theatrical rivalry on the night. Dame Judi and Dame Eileen Atkins, both 73, who played sisters in the period drama, are rival contenders for the same best actress award.
