Pamela Egan will give a lecture on the hymn poetry and lives of 17th-century Anglican church clergy George Herbert, Thomas Ken and John Donne at St. James Episcopal Church at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
Egan, former director of publications for the board of education of the Church of England, is an authority on English church history, culture and literature.
The lecture is free.
She will speak in the parish house forum room at the church, 119 N. Duke St. Her lecture will focus on famous hymn poems, spirituality and the three men.
Refreshments will follow.
