A signed first edition copy of The Origin of Species by scientist Charles Darwin has been found after it was stolen two and half years ago.

The book, which is valued at approximately GBP100,000 and is 147 years old, was reportedly stolen in February 2004 from Down House in Kent, southern England.

Police have charged Amir Adam Ladak with the theft after a new lead in the case led to it being reopened.

Ladak, who pleaded guilty to the theft at Bromley Magistrates' Court, has been released on unconditional bail prior ...
