NSW: Rare Charles Darwin book to go on display at NSW Library

A rare work by CHARLES DARWIN .. once owned by the naturalists own great grandson ..

will go on display at the New South Wales State Library next week.

The first edition of On the Origin of Species was purchased by the library at auction
for more than 190 thousand dollars and is the only copy in its original binding in any
public collection in Australia.

It was published in 1859 with only 1,250 copies ever printed.

DARWIN is said to have claimed it sold out within a day.
