Brief Summary Of "The Prairie"
Shortly after 1803, on the great plains of the United States, an old
trapper about eighty years old (Natty Bumppo) meets a small caravan traveling
from the Mississippi River. The group includes Ishmael Bush, his wife
(Esther), his children, Esther's niece (Ellen Wade), Esther's brother (Abiram
White) and Dr. Battius, a curious scientific man who prides himself on his
