"Music has charms to soothe a savage breast" said William Congreve, a 17th century dramatist; "and to lighten the burden of household chores," adds this columnist.

The sound of your favorite music, be it Bach or the Beatles, will erase the drudgery of even such unpleasant jobs of cleaning the oven or scrubbing the floors. Take a cue from the career corps and wear a radio with earphones as you move from room to room to clean. The rhythm of the music will make you dance your way through the tasks.
