The Wife Of Bath's Tale

Introduction:

The third fragment consists of the tales told by the Wife of Bath, the
Friar, and the Summoner. The Wife of Bath's Tale is distinguished by having a
prologue which is practically twice as long as the tale itself. Moreover,
there is a sense of urgency about it and a kind of breathless rhetoric that
makes the prologue one of the most dramatic elements in the entire Canterbury
