CAMBRIDGE - Ben Evett had a problem.

The Actors' Shakespeare Project artistic director had set the dates, rented the space, and lined up most of the cast for his mid- May production of "Julius Caesar," the third offering in the company's inaugural season. Visions of a spare, incisive rendering of Shakespeare's gargantuan drama loomed in his head.
