Salt City Center for the Performing Arts buzzed like the proverbial beehive this past weekend as theatergoers crowded into its lobby. At the box office, they chose between Neil Simon's comedy, "I Ought to Be in Pictures," and the musical "The Secret Garden," adapted from the classic book by Frances Hodgson Burnett.

"Garden" is this season's successor to "Jekyll & Hyde," the mega-musical John D. Smitherman uncorked a year ago. Again, he stars as well as directs, this time playing the hunchback uncle of young Mary ...
