We now know Shaquille O'Neal, er, Big Aristotle, does not live by Nietzsche alone, that his other book is ``Bartlett's Familiar Quotations.''

So we're pretty sure he already knows what the world's deepest thinkers would have said if conjured up for a few comments after the Lakers' 97-96 victory Wednesday over Phoenix.

The great philosophers wouldn't have wasted much breath noting how the Lakers didn't merely defeat the Suns in the first two games of their best-of-seven Western Conference semifinal series, they degraded them.
