From Christopher Lush Sir: Mark Steyn ('It's the demography, stupid', 12 November) attributes the quotation 'Poets are the unacknowledged legislators of the world' to Anatole France (1844-1924). In fact, the lines were written by Shelley (1792-1822) in A Defence of Poetry (1821).
