Along an otherwise quiet stretch of Paris's Left Bank, an enterprising postcard vendor has already set up shop across from the new Galerie J. Kugel on Quai Anatole France. The tony antiques gallery isn't yet open, but with the scores of painters and restorers scaling its elegant four-story facade and workmen hoisting precious objects through its windows, all summer long tourists have stopped to stare, searching in vain for a ticket window.
