OBSERVER: No comfort for `comfort women'
To paraphrase the satirist Anatole France, "the law is the means by which established lawlessness is sanctioned." And the law, or the absence of one, is the shield behind which Japan hides in denying the so-called Filipino comfort women compensation for their horrifying ordeal as sex slaves during World War II.
