SANTA BARBARA, Calif.--(BW HealthWire)--April 24, 1998--Computer Motion, Inc. (NASDAQ National Market:RBOT), the world leader in medical robotics with over 350 medical robots in use and an estimated 40,000 procedures successfully accomplished to date, announced today record quarterly revenues for its first quarter ended March 31, 1998.

Revenues for the quarter totaled $2,077,000, a 51% increase from revenues of $1,373,000 in last year's first quarter. Gross profit of $1,184,000 for the quarter was up 64% from the $722,000 recorded in last year's first quarter.
