Doh!! This is such a tough one. I love the soft cell version but I feel as if I am betraying my motown roots if I vote against The Supremes.

    The Supremes.

It's got to be Otis - great song, though Michael Bolton does a good job. Following the Motown theme:

Here too, I must go with the original.
The Supremes version is far more attractive both vocally and physically.
Phil's pasty male pattern penninsula doesn't stand up to the Supremes big hair.

    How about these two:

I thought the Sinatra version would have been good, but despite his usual voice, the orchestra seemed to playing a different tune. Ella's was by far the most tuneful.

Both of these versions are good.

Blast from the past. I vaguely recall hearing this coming from my sister's room many years back.

I prefer the "Macish" Peter Green version.

I was surprised at how much I enjoyed the Stones' version of this song, but Waylon can't be beat.

Here are a couple that seem appropriate for a lit forum:

Of yours, I think I like the Smash Mouth version better. . . not a great admirer or either, though.

I lie both versions - the Sting video is clever. I prefer the Eva cassidy version though.
