If you save the picture and then upload it it will work.

I shall commence a thorough investigation around the matter

I managed to look cute and helpless until someone more capable came along and did it for me.

Some strange higher power seems to prevent me in my nefarious purpose. I save an avatar, but then when I try to upload it I get the message that the image has an 'incorrect file extension'. Well, I guess I'm to be prevented from commencing pilferage.

L.M., I had the same problem, which hadn't happened to me before, but you might try what I did to get around it, if it's worth the trouble. Take a screen shot, and copy it to paint, then move it so their avatar is in the top left corner, and then cut off the rest of it (in attributes, CTRL+E) then save it and try to load that file, it should work.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm a technical ignoramus, but may go to the effort tomorrow.

It's a little format conversion error caused when you hit the save button. Often avatars are recognized by Lit Net's software as GIF images, therefore saved as such, when in reality they are JPG images. All you have to do is save the file, and then change the extension from GIF to JPG, after which you can upload it as your avatar and it should work fine. It has worked exactly this way for me. Hope it does for you too

Thank you, Maximilianus, for that very valuable advice

    I always liked that one.

Thank you, Max. But if you can believe it, I still can't figure out how to change it from GIF to JPG.

Edit: I just did it! But rather by accident.

Open Explorer (the program that lets you see the files on your computer's folders), find and highlight the file in question, then press F2 (a little file name edition box will show up), and then you change the file's extension (what comes after the dot).... hmmm... unless you can't see the extension... that could be another drawback ... let me know if you see the extension, okay?

Try to remember the accident for a future occasion, so you can have the accident again
