The Death of a Dream Chaser

i got the sunrise in my eyes
and my mind is alive with rhymes
and i know only i can decide
    who i want to be
i've got to find my place
    in this society
    study philosophy
    forget that amateur astronomy
    which told me my soul
    was beholden to another
    and i still love her
    but i gotta walk

walk til the soles of my boots
are as abused as the soul
    singing the blues this evening
    and i'll never capture that
    feeling again so whilst the
    seasons are changing i'll
    remember that life is always
    amazing when you're chasing
    dreams. no matter how far
    away they seem

Brilliant, brilliant sentiment!!! Never, ever stop dreaming, and never stop following that dream. Never let anyone tell you "you won't succeed".

I do like the unpunctuated, lack-of-capitals style, as well. Didn't think I would, but it reallys suited the piece. Thanks.

I did wonder, since he is very much alive, and still chasing. Maybe just "The Dreamchaser"?

Great piece of work, regardless of the title!

Sounds very Dylanesque (Bob not Thomas I hasten to add) - and the title, well it's surely not his death ; more his persistent optimism. 'Dream Chaser' maybe, but it's yours to do with what you will.

Hadn't thought of that, Hill. Strange, in my mind's eye, I can just see out across the water from Talacharn, now you mention it. Great connection - and praise indeed!

The title would have worked if, like most, he gave up chasing in the end. Prefer your optimism. good read.

    For those who believe,
    no explanation is necessary.
    For those who do not,
    none will suffice.
