    I like the notational cadence.
    It is like a real estate agent,
    or perhaps a landscape designer
    taking stock of a most remarkable
    detail, without manifesting any
    real sense of wonder.

    Most charming.

    I've recently been toying (starting and floundering) with the idea of a poetry study on 'The Naked Ladies' of Twickenham. I discovered them researching something else (Amaryllis) and the images stuck with me because Twickenham is the birthplace of my Mother. Alas, I've never been across the pond to see them myself, and to date my Mother hasn't emailed me back on any recollections she might have had before/during/after the blitz, and subsequent frequent visits 'home'.

    I'll keep in mind your wonderful poem to spur me on.

    Sincerely,

    I must love this poem at least for two reasons:
    it's so deliciously plunging one in plush and in lightness;
    it's easily accessible to me, because modern...

    but I love it tout court, because it's a real poetic craft!

    thanks AIII, be well,

    Bar
