    The Birthmark

    Hello,
I am doing a research paper on criticisms of Hawthorne's "The Birthmark". Can someone point me to a good reference site? Thanks very much. Robert.

The best bet is to go to a scholarly library, or university library website and research scholarly e-journals. You can find any sources you need there that can be narrowed to the specific ideas required for your paper, instantaneously, with just a bit of sifting through on the back end on your part. They are refereed sources, and are thus far more credible than the various criticisms you can find anywhere else online.

Check the J-STOR database; the Nathaniel Hawthorne Review might be a good journal source for publications pertaining to your Hawthorne questions/criticism.

PS Of course, this is only one journal source. There must be several more available.
