    We are Free!

    We are Free!

    by mazHur

    You live like all live,
    you die as All do
    Under the Same sun
    Under the same Moon
    Under the same sky
    in garments of etched gold
    or rags of ferrous garb
    Nothing makes you special
    nothing extra-ordinary
    freedom nor absence of wants
a good master keeps his dog well-fed
    unleashes him when he wants
    feeds him well
    the dog is also Free
    freer than you may be
    but you think he's not
    Ever thought?
    Everybody is Free
    In his own world
    In his own ways
    yet all are in chains
    imprisoned in a cage
    within a bigger cage!!

That is the truth. That's one for the ages, mazHur.

This is a philosophical offer and the obvious of course. And of course the master that tends the dog is also fettered and the fetter that fetters the man that leashes the do is also shackled to someone and one lives on another eternally. And yet we enjoy the idea of freedom or freedom it self in a different version. Is it what you want to say through your poem or something more?

“Those who seek to satisfy the mind of man by hampering it with ceremonies and music and affecting charity and devotion have lost their original nature””

“If water derives lucidity from stillness, how much more the faculties of the mind! The mind of the sage, being in repose, becomes the mirror of the universe, the speculum of all creation.
