Time for an accumulator. 7 desperados on Germany, then if I'm still in, 14 allornothings on England

I am one of many very happy Irish right now!

South Africa have nothing to be scared of next week.

France were truly awful, obviously all the stories about in-fighting are true then, it was clear that they don't care and can't play as a team and hate each other. The thinking is that the "manager" didn't play Gourcouff because the other players don't like him, they don't talk to him or sit with him at meal times and refuse to pass to him. What a pathetic bunch of babies, bye, bye.

I'm already on it in a way. It's the lowest price I've ever seen for a draw 4/5, I've laid it at that price, but backed a 0-0, the thinking is that if it is 0-0, I get my money back, but if someone scores I'll make a little. Either way a draw is good enough for these to go through so they'll make sure that they do just that. The only thing is that none of these teams will really want to finish second and play Argentina if they can help it.

Yes Mexico deserved the win. I think Henry is another one that the manager doesn't like, so no chance there. Notice how he just walked straight off down the tunnel and the reaction of the other players, it is clear that nobody cares in that team. Hopeless pathetic bunch.

    England tomorrow!!!

First bet, Germany win 30 Rooney's.

Probably true, but I don't like it. I know I'm a bit of a boy-scout about this kind of thing, but I don't think it's fair to settle for a mutually-advantageous draw. I think they should play to win - play up and play the game, and all that bally rot.

I mean - you know - dash it all - they should at least be sporting, even though they're foreigners.

Ah, but you can't trust these Johny foreigners can you? Not made of the old sterner stuff, the old moral fibre and all that sort of thing. Dash them all, I say, we only stick with them because they made some damn fine cheese.

England tomorrow, Heskey hat trick hero, what do we think?

I'm betting nothing on a U.S. win tomorrow.

I'm dwindling. I have to up the bets on the no brainers.

To be fair, he deserves his place more than Rooney does after the USA match. I'd pick Robert Green as well.

The new ball is making good players look like clodhoppers. I cant recall seeing so many over hit passes and shots going high and wide. Has there been a goal direct from a free kick on the edge of the area yet? It is usually a feature of the World Cup.

Germany of course, prepared for this and have been using the ball in their league.

    Mexican cheese???

My guesses for the other two matches today:

    USA win -- 5 Schillers
    England win -- 5 Schillers

Mexican cheese - Gorganzola? You remember it was the cheese slice everyone left in the mixed craft cheese triangles range? Everyone wanted the cheese and ham one.

I have spent (wasted) the last 40 years in the belief that Gorganzola was Swiss

But Gorgonzola is Italian Cheese. I reckon Neely was talking about French Cheese ...

And oh, did I mention that my stake on a German win is 50 Schillers?
