Nine - For a musical about the Italian film industry (which I've never really given much thought to before), this was right up my alley. There were a couple of parts that I could watch over and over (I loved the redheaded prostitute, she was an earth goddess type). The protagonist was a self-indulgent cliché for most of the film, but that was the whole point. I could sift through this one for a while, I got a lot out of it and I will get more next time I see it. 8/10

The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus - A film by Terry Gilliam, a director that I aaaalmost like, I start watching and it has potential, but then it gets all muddled and ruined about half way through. He just needs to slow down and understand the significance of subtlety. Remember that scene in Birth where they showed the widow's face in the theatre, trying not to have a complete mental breakdown? That's the genius of subtlety, something that Terry Gilliam's films are sorely lacking. It's all just way too over the top, it's too desperate and frantic. I did like some things though, I liked the young gypsy girl's style. She had a very interesting look. I also liked some of the visuals throughout the film, very pretty. So, in conclusion, this one looked good but wasn’t. 5/10

Ice Age: Dawn Of The Dinosours

10/10 I can't help it I love diago, and his voice is by Denis Leary one of my favorite actors, the only well known stand up ( other then henry rollins ) who talks about punk rock, plus I loved Rescue me and his music.

I also love that little squirl, and aww he fell in love, for a bit anyway lol.

And dinosours, ugh I love them, the mom t-rex was bad ***, and the kids were cute.

and the fact they through in that one giant dinasour as the big bad guy was awsome too, he's fairly new to our knowledge it wasnt long before jurassic park 3 that it was discovered. that made me happy.

and the little eggs that Sid had, that cracked me up.

BBC's Little Dorrit (Dickens' novel) 2008 version, a bit on the dark side, but some humor, really well acted from major roles to walk-ons. Real film folks will find this hard not to want to see another episode to find out what will transpire next.

Tank Girl- 10/10 just for entertainment and visuals. Obviously, the comics were much better.
Naked except for a cigarette, you let your mind drift and forget your disbelief. Feel the chill down your back and the flutter of wings through dandelion fields, and forget the pull of gravity in a night without stars.

I lack eloquence and commitment to my arguments. They are half baked, and I will begin passionately, and then abandon them.

Have you seen Fellini's film 8 1/2? Nine is a film version based on the stage musical of the same name, which was based on the film 8 1/2. Nine is shameful by comparison!! Fellini made it to be semi-autobiographical, but that charm is lost in Nine, in my opinion. I though the musical numbers themselves were weak as well. I found Nine really disappointing, actually.

Ahh what excellent taste you have! You have read my thoughts completely

Fellini's classic will forever be an unmatchable masterpiece in my mind. How can any musical ever match Nino Riota's beautifully quirky score?

"Up in the air" - 10/10.

Great soundtrack and great acting. I love this film! And though I'd have wished for a happy ending, I really liked the way it ended. It fit.

    The Lovely Bones

-- good, but the ending was so stupid that it cheapened the rest of the film. 5/10

It's just another of many examples where someone is trying to rip off the public using someone elses work to do so. Fellini was one of the greatest film directors ever and films such as Sweet charity and Nine, which effectively ponce off his work, shows just how corny and unimaginative the film industry has become. I have a rule that I apply to the cinema: Dont watch remakes or derivatives of existing films. That way I save money and am seldom disappointed. Sooner or later some rip off merchant will try to remake Citizen Kane and that's when I will hire a hit man.

I haven't seen it and don't intend to but the Briitish press that I have read have given it a poor reception.

Did you know that remakes are currently in the works for both My Fair Lady and The Wizard of Oz? Disgusting.
