I guess the book was put together properly but it was a great bore to read and very graphic. I am not into nature books but my whole class found it horribley boring and a waste of time to read. I myself have never read Jack Londons books but after this i dont think i really want to.
I totally agree with you. This is one of the worst books I've ever started to read. It's just unbelievabley boring.
I read Call of the Wild book. I HATED IT!!!! It ws really boring. No offence to the the people who did.

This book was good although it was a little hard to read for someone who is not an advanced reader and it may have been hard to understand but Jack used wonderful dicriptions and made you feel what was going on. The describing words gave you a great picture in your mind. This book was put together very well and formatted so that it wouldn.t take you a week to read. In conclusion although you are allowed your oppinion, you may want to read the book again and give yourself some time to think about it.
i hated it too, it was usless and there was no real problem or soloution. This was hard for me cause i had to da a book report with a section on the promblem/soloution

This book is so boring, who cares about a dog answering the call of the wild and joining the wolf pack<br>it is useless and i hated to read it. Yeah Jack London was a good author but it was not a good book!

I personally loved the book, though i spend time otuside, something rare for a few people i know on some forums, (perhaps the author falls into this category. Im 13, soon to be 14, and I read the book for the first time (original not kiddy version) in 3rd Grade. Its interesting and Buck represents each of us in a way. You may be tied down to cruel or ingorantly malignent owners. Or perhaps your just content, no more no less. Later, if your lucky, you'll find John. But Johns are rare, and much to easy to loose. When John has to go, you find your true calling because though you like being with John, it may not be what God intended you to do, or it may not physically or mentally be the best for you. at the end, you will succumb to The Call of the Wild

Kren might want some literature lessons, or find a dicionary, two phrases might be useful. "Sarcasm" and "Reading between the lines"

i know what ur talking about and the people who said it was boring prob. read a short story or didnt image the scenes.
who cares bout them they prob. failed their projects anyway.
i just read this and white fang back to back and i thought they were excellent in many ways.....
1. London told very intricate and unique humanizations.
2. The plots themselves were unique and could be appreciated alone.
3. London is a very fluid yet detailed writer, his descriptions are first class and far from boring.
4. He captures the overwhelming feeling of the wild itself. (which in itself is near impossible)
I could finish this list the rest of the night but... it would really do the books no justice... please if you didn't like it the first time.... read it again as if it's not homework
London is a great Naturalist writer. He writes about what IS. Dogs are really wild animals; Buck shows this in his journey back to his wild roots. Cruelty is out there and very real. London's graphic depictions are simply realistic--moreso than the "reslistic" bodies shown on shows like CSI.
Nature is harsh and does not care about any of the creatures in it. This is the reality that London's books brings out. Not pretty, but accurate.
