    OK, granted the Earth is flat. But what shape is it?

    People talk of going to the "ends of the earth", which would suggest it has at least two ends, like a corridoor, or a fish, Then again what of the "four corners of the world", that would suggest a rectangle or square, or there are those who refer to going "around" the world, suggesting a disk.

    All the World's a stage! The World is his oyster! What's it all mean?

    Clearly it means there are a lot of people out there who have not be graced by the claifying evidence of this thread.

    There are lots of different shapes for stages, prendlm - there's the proscenium arch kind with curtains and footlights - that would explain night and day and the stars, I suppose.

    Then there's the Apron stage - which would suggest that life is nothing but hard work.

    There's the Open Air stage - that would be relevant to most of the world, however you looked at it.

    There's the Arena stage - in the round, quite a contender, don't you think?

    Then there's the RSC's favourite, the Tongue stage - I think perhaps I don't want to go there...

    btw - I thought the Silly Season was in August - has it come early this year? I blame climate change, myself.

    Desperately hoping you aren't serious on this one.
    you're= you are

    you are all stupid= you're all stupid.

    The earth is a slightly irregular rectangle. Just so you all know.
    Everyone knows what's in room 101.

    Everything becomes irrelevant, when the sky tears open.

    "Hey Kevin." "What?" "Theres a ditch there." "Sh*t!"

    I know which one's which, but it seems that on the internet it's compulsory to use the "your stupid" construction when you run out of iditotic ideas. It's a special in CT especially.

    The appropriate answer is;

    "My stupid what?"

    They never even get it.

    But would I just go straight through the bottom?

    The earth can't be entirely flat though, it'd have to be some sort of prism, otherwisse my epically large hole that I plan on digging won't work.

    Although it can't be a sphere... Just because.

    I still blame the twits in the middle ages for just rebeling against religion. A whole heap of bibles say its round. That had already been proven.

    The industrial revolution knocked a little sense into us, but hardly enough.

    Can I change my mind and say it is round?
    For I have known them all already, known them all:
    Have known the evenings, mornings, afternoons,
    I have measured out my life with coffee spoons;
    I know the voices dying with a dying fall
    Beneath the music from a farther room.

    So how should I presume?

    Absolutely not! Not if you want any of us experts to take you seriously anyway.

    How about I call it shapely?

    Any objections?

    it is still a shape... Isn't it?

    Yay! I think the earth is shapely!

    Ha! Take that science vs religion.

    Does that make me one of those politicians that just minces their words to sound smart and keep the peace even though they don't know the real answer?

    I think that the earth must be able to morph its shape, therefore people see it as different shapes and it just happens to be luck if you see the same shape twice. This would cover the basis that the world has four corners, is round but flat, and has ends. On top of this, it would back up several artistic interpretations of the world. And, you know it make sense when you think about it.
