Is this novel any good? (no spoilers please) and, what translation is best? I don't think P&V have translated it, I usually just go with them when reading Russian literature. That novel is great and the main character is fantastic. But can't help you about translation, sorry.

To get things clear, they have to firstly be very unclear. But if you get them too quickly, you probably got them wrong.

It is one of my favorite novels ever. I read the Michael Katz version, which I thought was quite good.
