Animal Farm and Russian Revolution Help please!

I am currently writing a research paper on how Animal Farm is an direct allegory to the Russian Revoltuion and I was wondering if anyone could help me with three good points for the comparison of

    1) the Battle of the Cowshed compared to Russian Civil War
    2) The destruction of the windmill compared to Stalin's Five Year plan

The Battle of the Cowshed isn't a great analogy to the Civil War as it was outside forces fighting against the animals, while the Civil War itself was a fight between Russian factions - albeit with outside help on some sides.

Can I suggest you read this thread for some excellent background information:

The windmill and five-year plans belong together because both were disasters, both in planning and execution.

Note the deprivation the animals put up with because they believed they were working for the common good. You can also use Boxer's demise as the spirit of the Russian peasant being broken, and the disinformation campaign by Squealer equating to the propaganda Stalin used to show that people were better off, when they were in fact worse off.
Go to work, get married, have some kids, pay your taxes, pay your bills, watch your tv, follow fashion, act normal, obey the law and repeat after me: "I am free."
