    Looking for a Faustian story

Has anyone read any good stories set in contemporary times with a faustian theme? i.e. person does a deal with the devil. Whether it's short stories, or plays or novels...

Looking forward to reading people's suggestions!

Mephisto by Klaus Mann. An actor in 1930's Germany dreams of playing the role of Mephistophiles and ingratiates himself with the Nazis.

Cool The Devil and Daniel Webster is a Faustian story ....

It is a short story by Stephen Vincent Benet about a New Hampshire farmer who sells his soul to the Devil but is defended by Daniel webster. If you're asking about a Faustian story, I take it you have probably read the Goethe Faust or the Christopher Marlowe one. Both of these should be read before branching out.

This short story almost fits your criteria. If you read it, you'll know what I mean.
