    Christian Bale's work

I was wondering what members thought of Bale in terms of his overall performances to date. I have not seen him in all of his roles, especially The Dark Knight, (I'll get to it) but I find his internalized isolation on screen to be rather interesting.

I viewed The Machinist this morning, and while I found it disappointing in its entirety, it had an usually gaunt and gothic atmosphere to it, aside from the weight Bale lost to play the lead role. He did another interesting feature after that as a POW, which I will probably put on my queue at some point, and of course, Batman Begins just got it right, superbly, about how to put a comic book hero on screen.

I am an old fart, and overall I consider myself a failed writer, despite some good clips, and I am not a movie critic, but if I am going to reconcile myself to the digital revolution, and start yet another blog among thousands, what I would really enjoy writing about is disability motifs in film and video, though I do not know if I could build an audience base on that topic. I'd welcome any feedback on the matter, and some of Bale's performances would suit me, on that score.

In The Machinist, btw, the director seems to have taken a self-conscious cue from Lost in focusing the reader on a hard back edition of The Idiot.

If I am not reading as clearly as some members would like, I am wondering how Bale plays out, since he is a next generation A-list star, at least to a woman of my age, and I am thinking about this due to a possible blog topic, as I've mentioned, which I am worrying over.
