I think you do find copies of both books together. I have a copy with both books together in one copy. I don't know if Alcott ever signed it though.

    Signed Copies of Little Women

Does anyone know if Louisa May Alcott ever signed any copies of Little Women & Good Wives (all in the one book)? If you have any info, please email me ([email protected])

I have a copy with both books together also. The Title Page is missing and I cannot find a date anywhere. It has the ads in the rear of the book and a signature which appears authentic on the last page of the book, below a portrait of the author. Publisher is Roberts Brothers and it appears to be an early edition. Any information would be helpful.

Without the title page to show if it's a reprint or not it might be hard to date it without an expert who could look at the ads etc. The ads do make it sound like it is at least a 19th century edition. Alcott is one of the most commonly forged signatures in books because of the large sentimental value they have for a lot of people, it's one of the more popular collector items for antique books.

Depending on your location I'd recommend you bring the book to someone who would have experience with antique books to see if they can date it. If there's a large university near you you can try their library, a well funded humanities department should have a rare books collection with experienced archivists. They should at least be able to give you an idea of the age of the book.

Also, I'm not familiar enough with the publication history of the book to know if the signature is printed or not, as in it could be a standard replication of the author's signature that was published in each edition.
