Yes, but those men who don't read...are driven by testosterone into the wilderness to drive ATVs and hunt for wild creatures...or to explore vast reaches of the world...

I think the stats show that there are more women readers than men, and this goes right back to school, with female literacy levels higher than males.

There are certainly more pastel coloured books in the bookshops.

Driving ATVs have very little effect on the environment...hunting wild creatures help control wildlife population (ask any wildlife conservationist)...and you can learn many things by experience in addition to reading...

You can't just make such a simplistic comment like 'hunting for wild creatures help control wildlife population'. ATVs contribute around 58% of all annual emissions for recreational vehicles in the US. That's 8% of nitrous oxides and almost 5% of CO2 for total onroad and offroad vehicles, in their entirety.

They're horrendous. As is killing wild animals.

Didn't mean to appear to be attacking you but only you made those comments as if they were facts and they weren't...

We will have to disagree...and I will gladly dispute any so-called facts that the scientists EVER give anymore...with all of the corruption that they have shown here lately. Your facts are only as good as the integrity of the scientists, which they have proven that their integrity is questionable at best.

As I said...ATVs have little effect on the environment, and hunting helps control animal populations...therefore, if you disagree, then we will have to disagree.

The first time you said that you put in brackets 'ask any wildlife conservationist'. Well, I'm an environmental scientist whose studied wildlife conservation and been taught by a few of them and I'm telling you that they are not a cure for species overpopulations or imbalances in predator-prey populations. They are a short term solution, kind of like carbon offsetting.

All published science is peer-reviewed before being published. It's not just one scientist or one teams findings going straight to print.

Wow..I know little about this topic but I find it difficult to believe that hunting can be any but awful..I just think from a spiritual and humanistic perspective that we all deserve to live..(I'm terrified of spiders so I will try to remind myself of this point next time i see one)

Paulclem..''There are certainly more pastel coloured books in the bookshops.''...pastel couloured books should be banned..(except from the children's section perhaps)

Look into what is called the 'deer yards'. I think that over-populated wildlife habitat is awful. To think that there are so many white tail deer starving to their death is despicable. Conservationist and the game commissions have studied these things well. I must ask this one thing...are you a vegetarian?

No..I'm not..a vegetarian and I know being one would b more humane..however..I'm not political about it really..just don't think its nice..but starving animals sounds very sad too..as I said..I really dont know much about it..the arguments are compelling..
