    Loyal Breadcrumbs

ok, ok! I'm getting past this phase

    So much effort
    for a worthless man
    and a broken heart

    You are blind

    Amid fake tears
    and hideous chatter
    familiar shores are betrayed

    Go! be deceived

    Piteous, foolish girl
    who lets garbage love
    thieve her family security

    or

    So muchel peyne
    for a drasty swayn
    and a brosten herte

    Ye be blent

    Midst feyne teeres
    and loothly jangle
    kynly strondes be wreyed

    Gooth! be blent

    Scathe veyn mayden
    who suffren mullok luv
    pykpurs hir kyn warente

    if you must
    at our peril.

Who else will write to us
    from Chaucer's time, or
    so succinctly, of our own?

Thank you Prince. I feel that I inflict this curiosity upon you all. I will worry less about my audience in this respect from now on.

As I've said before I love your Middle English, though I don't think this is one of your better pieces. I think there's something lost in the translation of this one; it lacks the wittiness of the ME. I do wish I could hear these read aloud. Maybe you should start putting up audio files of yourself reading them!

I like it in both languages. Delta, tell me again, did you take a class in this? Because it is another language at this point, and I'm trying to figure out how you do it.

I am not taught so I know I am not following the ME rules (whatever they may be!) Call it Midern English!
