Howdy Lit-net! I used to post here as djy78usa, but have been away for a while, so I figured I'd reintroduce myself. I'm looking forward to getting back in the swing of things.

Chello everyone! My name is Phil, I just found this website not that long ago and I'm pretty new here but I love it. I started writing when I was 13, a lot of my work got banned from school and got me in constant trouble but it never stopped me. I live in the valley in California and play in a punk rock band here, needless to say I love to write and play music. I dabble in a lot of arts and aside from the written ones I do a lot of drawing. I am an anarchist and a feminist, so I'm very political but I don't hold my beliefs against those of others. I am twenty years old and running out of things to put in my introduction lol.

Hello! I joined this site because, after reading Moby-Dick, I had a strong desire to both read people's interpretations and discuss my own. I came across this site, and seeing that it covered a wide range of literature, I decided that it would be a great place to visit.
I also have a great interest in writing, and I try to write for at least one to two hours a day.
    It's nice to meet everyone.

It probably seems like I'm obsessed with Moby-Dick.
Oh, Time, Strength, Cash, and Patience!

    Hi

I am dutifully following the request to post an intro . Wasn't a stellar writer in my earlier days. Then I met a girl who had scored 800 in her English SAT. I decided to retake the test to impress her, and scored 800 in the English section. I ran to the telephone to tell her the news only to find she had disconnected her phone
Four years later I sent the test results to my old high school headmaster, and presto I got paying work in the writing profession while the letter was en route. Have been writing ever since.
I joined to share a short story -my spoof on the Google Local.

If the smiley icons I put in this piece don't work just use your imagination!

    Hello everyone.

I'm Raabia Hirani, final year student of BS in English Literature at University of Karachi, Pakistan.
At present I'm doing research in sufism/mysticism as result of existentialism in contemporary literature.
I'm easily distracted, mainly because I'm interested in pretty much everything. An ideal life for is one in which there is no road not taken. Which, as I've learnt, is not a very practical approach to life. Well I'm searching and learning. Thats about it

    Hello,
I am new here and after reading some wonderful stories in this forum I decided to join. I really do not have so much time because I am a working mum but I am truly convinced that reading and writing is such an enrichment for our lifes. Whereever you live or whatever you do with literature there is a great band between everybody.
I am really looking forward reading more interesting stories.
By the way, I am from Germany (the former West-Germany) and I love Period Dramas, Folk Dancing, Black Tea, Blue Grass and the books of Connie Willis, Jane Austen and Elizabeth Gaskell.

    Yours
    Dixon

Welcome to the forum! I saw your user name and thought " Huh! I wonder if they read Gaskell." I was right!

    Hello, all.

I live in Southern New England, have long been interested in good music and good books and have tried my hand at writing a missive or two.
I will write more about myself in subsequent posts.
It's good to be in the company of those who know the value and force of the Written Word.

    Cheers
