Well, Hamlet is written in the classic Revenge Tragedy style except without all the character impulse or the usual consequences. Look at the O what a rogue and peasant slave am, To be or not to be and Now might I do it pat speeches for his lack of impulse, or at least his moral reasoning for not revenging. And the classic Revenger experiences torment for his revenge whereas Hamlet is emancipated by his eventual deed.

I would also look to two other soliloquies for more insight into the quality and development of Hamlet's morality, namely O that this too too solid flesh would melt (act1sc2) and How all occasions do inform against me (act4sc4).

    Hope that's useful.
