    Ho! Ho! Ho!

'Tis the season for giving and, lest I ignore reality entirely, 'tis also the season for getting. So what do you say? Shall we not give each other the gift of books?

I'll start. Feel free to follow.

To Brother Neely, a copy of Merton's The Seven Storey Mountain:

To JuniperWolf, fellow comics enthusiast, a copy of R. Crumb's latest magnum opus:

To Scheherazade, few libraries carry this worthy book. Enjoy!

    To skib, Ride on!

Yay! Thanks Comedian! Hmmm... I've got to think about this one for a while.

But we DO need a tree to put the presents under, and a hearth to sit by. Here:

I kept looking, forcing myself not to blink, and then the brightness began to dissolve. My pupils shrunk to pinholes and everything came into focus and for a moment I understood. The doctors didn't know if my eyes would ever heal."

Haha, Blankets was pretty good, and I'm not even that big of a comic fan.

Yay, I love Christmas! There's something beautiful and simple about giving things to others. Yes I'm a cultural cliche, but how can my nostaligia hold it back?

    Okay, in alphabetical order:

    To Bakiryu:

    To Dark Muse
Okay I'm sure you already have this, but I bet you don't have first edition

    To Janine

    To Mathor

    To NickAdams
    Betcha' don't have first edition!

    To quimissung
    Thought you might be interested

    To rimbaud
    Undoubtably you already have this

    To The Comedian
I don't know I you like Flyod or not, but the title seemed appropriate

And last but not least, to toni
I'm really glad you enjoyed it xx

Whew, that was a lot of Christmas shopping

Sounds kind of dry - I think I could probably write it better. Though Brando is now dead, so no getting him to sign onto my movie contract

Probably. I have no idea what it's about. It's the title that made think it would be perfect for you.

Well, I've thought long and hard.

    For The Comedian:

A knife, for all of it's various uses.

    Flint and steel.

    And...

These three things are really all the material goods that you'll ever need (that and a few dozen comics, but I figure you've already got that one covered).

    For Mono

So that you can keep in touch. Where the hell did you go?

    For Rimbaud

    Every Rimbaud fan needs...

Hiking boots, for wandering endless roads.

A pipe, to aid in contemplation.

    And...

    Absinthe, for fun.

    For OrphanPip

An electron microscope. Call it a cheap little graduation present.

    For fun.

    For JBI

To help you to reconnect to your Canadian roots, I give you:

    For Virgil

I thought that you might like this. It's just a little something that I painted in my spare time.

    And...

    Just in case.

    For Mathor:

My friend with good taste, I think you'd appreciate this classic album.

If you haven't seen it, I think you'll love it. It's pretty epic.

    For Babbalanja:

If this doesn't help you out with that sense of humor, I don't know what will.

    And for The Atheist:

I saw this in the store, and I thought of you immediately.

Try it on; I think it'll suit you.

Hey thanks Juniper and Daniel. You shouldn't have (and by "shouldn't", I mean "should" -- those gifts are awesome).

Ha, I think I'd faint. Me and the other technician at work threw a little party when we got a new light microscope.

Oh, and can you get me a FACS for Christmas?
