    Beowulf translation

The translation on this web site is not very good. The best traslation of this great poem i've ever read is the one by Seimieus Heanely, or something to that nature. he really looks at the whole of the old english text and really captures the true essance of the poem like it is supost to be. The website should up-dates it's translation. However, i really like this epic poem and think it is a must read for anyone interseted in literature.

i think when the unpublished translation of beowulf by jrr tolkien is released it will be beyond awesome. apparently it will appeal to scholars mainly but since he did it when quite young and wowed everyone in the academic world it will be something.
